Statistical thermodynamic analysis of non-stoichiometric interstitial compounds

Synthesis of carbide, nitride and carbo-nitride using solar furnace as well as conventional laboratory electric furnace.

Formation and characterisation of non-equilibrium solid phases using rapid solidification processing technique including water atomization and chill block melt spinning and through employment of reactant being in state away from equilibrium such as non-graphitic carbon and flowing NH3 gas.
