In the current energy transition paradigm, aiming to increase the use of renewable energies, LNEG is the author of the National Geothermal Atlas and promotes its constant updating, through the formulation and parameterization of scientifically based models developed in the framework of research projects, in partnerships with similar institutions, national and international, in particular within the framework of the EGS – EuroGeoSurveys.
At the narrowest level of application of LNEG in terms of increasing the use of renewable energies, LNEG conducts studies to evaluate the geothermal potential and the utilization of its energy for the production of heat or cold for multiple purposes.
