This collection is essentially composed of antique laboratory and field instruments, from which a small parcel is exhibited in the Mineralogy Room.
On the whole, it deserves a special mention the universal microscope ordered by the mineralogist Vicente R. Sousa Brandão to the R. Fuess house in Berlin, which was specifically built by C. Leiss for the Geological Survey Commission. It is also worth to mention other diverse scientific equipment, namely the devices that were used in petrographic and mineralogical research, such as portable microscopes, polariscopes, goniometers, etc.
