LNEG was present at the III International Workshop-cum-Seminar on Natural Stones and Conservation of Heritage Stones, held in the cities of Jaipur, Makrana and Agra, in India, 1-6 of December.

LNEG’s representative, Jorge Carvalho, presented a talk entitled “Valorisation of the Lioz ornamental stone – Mapping the occurrences”, which highlighted the continuous research and advances in understanding and promoting the Lioz ornamental stone, a valuable contribution to geological and architectural heritage.

In addition to the presentation sessions, the workshop included visits to several monuments representing the use of Indian Heritage Stones and to the marble quarries sourced for the construction of the Taj Mahal.
