LNEG participated as a key-note speaker at the event “China-Portugal International R&D Seminar: Carbon Neutrality and Innovation” organized by EDP NEW and CTG – China Three Gorges Corporation on November 30th, 2022. The seminar, in a hybrid format, focused on the challenges of research and the need for transdisciplinary collaboration, not only combining different themes, but also combining different geographies. It featured presentations from the two organizing companies, as well as from APREN – Portuguese Renewable Energy Companies Association, China Offshore Wind Association, China Power Plan and Design Institute and from LNEG. In the latter, Sofia G. Simoes from the Resource Economics Unit focused the needs of natural resources such as water, soil, minerals and other materials for decarbonization in the European Union and Portugal.
