It is a unique sample in the world, because it presents two adults specimens of this rare species in the same block.

The Trilobites were exclusively marine Arthropods, that lived during all the Primary Era for about 300 million years. In Portugal, the Trilobites were frequent during the Ordovician (Valongo, Arouca, etc.), Silurian and Devonian Periods. This sample comes from the known slate quarry of Canelas (Arouca), where the local museum deserves a visit.
