Abstract: Haldanodon exspectatus Kühne & Krusat 1972 from the Kimmeridgian of Portugal belongs to the family Docodontidae (O. Docodonta, C. Mammalia) whereby three further genera are known. The Docodontidae evolved out of the family Morganucodontidae. The inclusion of the family Morganocodontidae in the Docodonta is based on the morphological homologies between Morganocodon and Haldanodon.
