The Solar Energy Laboratory has equipment for conducting optical characterization tests of:

  • absorber and reflector surfaces (components of solar thermal collectors): determination of solar absorption and thermal emissivity in absorber surfaces and determination of solar reflectance in reflectors;
  • surfaces of building materials (components of the facade): determination of SRI – Solar Reflectance Index.

The equipment available is:

  • Perkin Elmer Lambda 950 spectrophotometer (UV / VIS / NIR) with a 150 mm InGas integrating sphere from Perkin Elmer
  • Perkin Elmer Frontier spectrophotometer (IR / NIR) with Pike integrating sphere

Cost:

Cost upon request.

To request a test it is necessary:

The request is formalized on the date that the Laboratory receives this document.

Deadline for the service:

The deadline is dependent on the number of samples to be characterized, being possible to consider a minimum period of 5 days to carry out the work and issue the report.
